Despite Zach Edey's remarkable 37-point performance for Purdue, surpassing a historic mark set by Elvin Hayes, his efforts were overshadowed by UConn's relentless team performance.

Tristan Newton led UConn with 20 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Other contributors included Stephon Castle with 15 points, Cam Spencer with 11 points and eight rebounds.

Braden Smith's 12 points and eight assists were not enough for Purdue, as they trailed for over 32 minutes and faced double-digit deficits for most of the second half.
